In addition to the hands on experience with Science and Technology and project management, Team Caution is uniquely situated to create opportunities for high school students to collaborate with people outside their immediate environment by bringing students and mentors together valley wide.

• The organization is an opportunity to spread the word about FIRST and accentuate the potential impact on the future employment culture by providing the students of today a “real world” experience not only with science and technology but with running a business as well.
• This community aspect provides access to a wide talent/interest base that deepens the experience for team members and the mentors yielding a richer experiencing of the goals of FIRST through partnering, implementing gracious professionalism and collaboration with and as mentors.
• Team 1492 hopes more students will seek a future in science and technology and explore educational opportunities in engineering and other technology related fields having been exposed to them at the high school level. One of the major goals is to increase awareness of the FIRST program and grow the number of teams fielded from the Phoenix metropolitan area.
